Dr. Gabriel Walter

Founder & Group Chief Executive Officer of QEOS

Gabriel Walter hails from Sarawak, Malaysia and is part of the ethnic minority group of Kelabit. He received his B.S, M.S, and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign (UIUC), Urbana, IL, in 1998, 2001, and 2003, respectively. He spent a total of 17 years in Illinois and Wisconsin, USA before permanently returning to Malaysia in 2013.

He is currently, the Group CEO, Adjunct Assistant Professor and major shareholder of Quantum Electro Opto Systems (QEOS) Sdn. Bhd., a Malaysian technology company which he co-founded in 2008 with Prof. Nick Holonyak Jr, the inventor of the Light Emitting Diode (LED) and Prof. Milton Feng.

QEOS is a technology company which he co-founded in 2008 with Prof. Nick Holonyak Jr, the inventor of the Light Emitting Diode (LED) and Prof. Milton Feng. QEOS developed a new innovative technology for the design and high-volume production of high-speed, low-cost, and energy-efficient optical solutions, wireless and wireline technology.

This is enabled by utilizing breakthrough QEOS Tilted Charge Dynamics™ (TCD) core technology for a new high-speed LED. In this revolutionary innovation the entire light emitting module is fully integrated in a single chip compared to current optical solutions, and the impact in design and production is substantial. The market need for lower power-per-gigabit increases as bandwidths get faster and data usage grows exponentially. QEOS technology will enable the digital ecosystem to keep pace.

Poh Lian, Lam is Chief Technology and Operating Officer of QEOS, a RM 50 million company that provides cutting edge connectivity technology solutions that includes more than 50 patents applied and awarded worldwide, connecting people, power and data connectivity technology.

Currently, Poh Lian is also President and CEO of QEOS LED, a subsidiary of QEOS that focusing the company strength as the next frontier of lighting technology with ultra-low energy consumption, extremely long lifespan and excellent photometric properties suited for broad range of application, from healthcare and hospitality industry to semiconductor and food industry.

Poh Lian is passionate about high fidelity connectivity technology and global rural electrification issues and has devoted more than 8 years to the field. She started her career as an R&D engineer, and progressed through engineering and project management roles in The Tilted Charge Dynamics™ technology. She holds several patents and publishes numerous papers on monolithic electronic-photonic integration, opto-electronic circuits and techniques.

Poh Lian earned her master's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and her bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering from the University Putra Malaysia.

Mohd Ghazali Mahmood

Executive Director of QEOS

Mohd Ghazali Mahmood was a founding director of QEOS when it was incorporated in 2008, and is presently its Executive Director.

He received his B.Sc. Civil Engineering (Hons.) from the University of Southampton (UK) in 1975 and Diploma in Hydro Power from the Norweigian Institute of Technology (Trondheim, Norway) in 1981.

He started his career with the National Electicity Corporation where for nine years he was involved in the development of some of the major hydropower projects in Malaysia, namely the Temenggor and Kenyir Hydroelectric Power Plant Projects.

After leaving National Electricity Corporation he was involved in the civil construction industry, where for the next 20 years he was involved in the construction of buildings, roads and other infrastructure projects. Besides the normal civil construction projects, he is also experienced in the privatisation of projects involving roads, buildings, and university hostels. During this period he rose to become the CEO of one of the prominent construction company in the country.

Dato Hj. Azman Shah Omar Shah

Dato' Azman Shah started his career in Shell Malaysia after finishing his Diploma in Electrical Engineering where he received his training and exposures starting with Shell Installation Sg Way and Subang Depot specializing in Aviation Fuel.

He then went on to Shell Ipoh Depot for Oil & Gas and Lubricants depot operations after which to Shell Telok Intan Installation Perak for Bulk Fuel and Bitumen. Short of being sent to Shell Port Dickson Refinery he decided to further his studies in Finland specializing in Prefabricated Technology for Buildings and Bridges. His entrepreneurship began with a Malaysian Finland JV company specializing in Prefabricated Buildings and he also established a Malaysian Italian JV Turnkey construction company for Dams and Bridges. He operated a Garment Manufacturing factory for exports to USA and Europe for brands Puma, Nike, Pierre Cardin, Lotto and established a Precision tooling factory servicing MNC’s like Motorola. He then ventures into International Trading and Property Development in the Middle East, Eastern Europe and West Africa during which he acquired his MBA specializing in Management. He was the prime mover of few listed companies and continued being a Property Developer with completed and ongoing projects GDV of above One Billion Ringgit.

Dato' Oseman Bin Chik

Major General Dato’ Oseman Bin Chik is formerly a Panglima Logistik Tentera Darat, Malaysia in Malaysia Armed Forces and has served Malaysia for 35 years. Major General Dato’ Oseman has undergoes his cadet training at Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, England, a prestigious academy in England and among the best in the world. He has held numerous assignment include position as Asisten Ketua Staf Logistik in Markas Formasi Tentera Darat, training centre. He has previously served as Infantry team and has involved in numerous battle with the terrorists. Major General Dato’ Oseman also has served as an intelligence officer on a team of 18 Rejimen Askar Melayu Diraja.

Prior to that, Major General Dato' Oseman bin Chik had also served Under the banner of the United Nations in Bosnia Herzegovina as a Logistics employee for managing Malaysia's services that are serving in Bosnia Herzegovina. He is also a logistics planner for the involvement of Malaysian Army personnel serving under the United Nations worldwide and among others in Timor Leste, Lebanon, Somalia and Bosnia Herzegovina.

Major General Dato' Oseman has contributed many major improvement throughout his career such as amends the Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) menu which has never been changed since 1933. This new menu provides comprehensive benefits for the members of the Malaysian Armed Forces. He leads and pours in a lot of endeavour efforts in making the Army Museum a reality, which is currently located in Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan. In addition, Major General Dato' Oseman has led the Dataran Panglima Tentera Darat Project at Sungai Besi Camp, Kuala Lumpur. The construction of the Dataran has a huge and important impact because it raised the image of the Army. He also serves as Chairman of Kor Perkhidmatan Diraja (KPD) and led the effort to build Wisma Perwira as a training ground for soldiers, providing services, catering and Etc. The building is frequently used By DYMM Sultan of Kedah as the Colonel of the President of KPD.

Ali S Chauhdry brings years of executive experience with government, public and private sectors to lead the group to the global arena. He has been effective and accountable in high executive roles, overcome complex business challenges and makes high stake decisions using experience backed judgment, strong work ethic and irreproachable integrity. He is respected as a proponent of empowerment and accountability. Mr Chauhdry is a founding Managing Director and CEO of the Arab Investment Group (ARIG) a family office from Saudi Arabia.

Additionally, Mr Chauhdry is a private advisor to the members of the Saudi Royal family, represents various companies in the fields of mining, oil & gas, media, telecom, infrastructure, real estate, health and hospitality, actively participate in social activities globally.

Previously, Mr Chauhdry has been an advisor to various politicians and government bodies in Europe and Asia on international and public relations, represented media and international youth affairs at the United Nations European headquarter in Geneva.

His extensive knowledge of executing business comes from heavy transaction background including start up financing, mergers and acquisition, corporate restructuring and sale of assets in the global markets.
